In accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), all personnel working at LA BioMed must demonstrate an awareness of the need to treat patient medical information with confidentiality. Working in a medical research environment means that personnel, even those not directly working with patient information, may come into contact with such information. To this end, all employees must read an informational booklet (attached) and take and pass a test on their knowledge about proper handling of confidential patient medical information . The test consists of 18 multiple choice questions. After completing the test, you will be given a score; if you pass the test, you will receive a certificate which is your evidence of successful completion.
