The Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute Foundation

The Los Angeles Biomedical Research Institute Foundation is the premier community support group for LA BioMed. Although it had existed informally for many years, the Foundation became an official 501(c)3 corporation in September of 1997 when it was called the Harbor-UCLA Collegium. The present name was adopted in July of 2004.

The Foundation is comprised of a group of dedicated and concerned people who enthusiastically support LABioMed financially and through community outreach. The Foundation’s key fundraiser is the yearly Discovery Gala that attracts some 500 guests. During the year, the Foundation hosts Science Soirées, which are social gatherings in local homes at which LA BioMed researchers discuss the innovative programs underway at the Institute. These Soirées enable community leaders to keep abreast of the remarkable work in progress at LA BioMed. The Foundation also hosts and helps with special events and lectures during the year.

The vigorous advocacy of the Foundation has stimulated broad community recognition, creative outreach and support for LA BioMed.
